IBM and the Department of Science and Technology in Gujarat have signed an MoU to establish an AI Cluster at GIFT City. This collaboration aims to foster innovation and collaboration among financial institutions by providing access to AI Sandbox, proof of concepts, AI literacy programs, and digital assistant solutions.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel, highlighted that this MoU will help the state lead the country in adopting AI and driving digital transformation. Sandip Patel, Managing Director at IBM India and South Asia, emphasized the strategic importance of using AI for businesses to enhance productivity, innovation, and customer experience.
IBM will provide software technologies and platforms in a cloud environment for financial institutions to customize and tune large AI models in a sandbox environment. Additionally, IBM will develop a digital assistant-based solution to facilitate the onboarding and integration of these custom models for financial institutions.
In line with IBM’s commitment to empower 30 million people by 2030 and train 2 million students in AI by 2026, the company will develop an AI curriculum for schools and colleges in Gujarat. The collaboration also includes literacy programs and certifications for professionals in the state to upskill and prepare them for the AI-driven economy of the future.
