IBM IBM, the hybrid-cloud, AI and consulting giant, acquired UK cybersecurity consultancy Logiq Consulting to deepen its reach into highly regulated and sovereign markets. Shares fell roughly 2.4% to $227.13 on 10.30am ET time on Thursday morning.
Logiq gives IBM specialized expertise across defence, critical national infrastructure and the public sector. The firm brings secure engineering, managed services and DISX, a collaboration platform built for sensitive UK workloads. Financial terms were not disclosed, but the strategic logic is clear: IBM is buying security credentials and government relationships that would take years to build organically.
The stock trades 6.48% below its GF Value estimate of $242.86, suggesting modest upside if execution holds. Still, the deal alone will not move the needle. Investors should watch consultant utilization, contract renewals and IBM’s ability to sell more software and services through Logiq’s customer base.
