IBM plans to significantly increase entry-level hiring in the United States in 2026, according to comments from Nickle LaMoreaux, the company’s Chief Human Resource Officer, at the Leading with AI Summit. The company intends to triple recruitment for early-career roles while adapting job descriptions to reflect the changing impact of artificial intelligence on the workplace.
LaMoreaux indicated the redesigned roles will focus less on tasks increasingly automated by AI, such as routine coding, and more on customer engagement and human-centered responsibilities. The initiative reflects IBM’s strategy to prepare future talent pipelines for higher-skilled positions in an AI-driven economy while continuing to invest in workforce development.
The announcement comes as research and industry forecasts highlight the growing influence of AI automation on entry-level employment across technology and enterprise sectors.
