IBM is working with Arm to bring Arm-native applications into its enterprise systems, expanding support for AI workloads in environments that prioritize uptime, security, and control.
The companies said they are developing technology to run those applications inside IBM Z and LinuxOne systems, supported by shared software layers enabling deployment across both architectures without requiring code rewrites.
The effort reflects a broader shift in enterprise infrastructure as AI pushes organizations beyond single-architecture environments.
“Our aim is to expand software choice and improve system performance, while maintaining the reliability and security our clients expect,” said Tina Tarquinio, chief product officer for IBM Z and LinuxOne.
“As enterprises scale AI, the breadth of the Arm software ecosystem is enabling these workloads to run across a broader range of environments,” said Mohamed Awad, executive vice president of Arm’s Cloud AI business unit.
