IBM and the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Gujarat have come together to establish an artificial intelligence cluster in Gujarat’s International Finance Tec City (GIFT). This collaboration aims to promote innovation and collaboration among financial institutions by providing access to AI Sandbox, proof of concepts, AI literacy programs, and digital assistant solutions. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel expressed his belief that this partnership with IBM will help Gujarat become a leader in adopting AI and driving digital transformation.
IBM will provide software technologies and platforms in a cloud environment to enable financial institutions to customize and fine-tune AI models in different languages in a sandbox environment. Sandip Patel, general manager of IBM India and South Asia, emphasized the importance of this collaboration in accelerating Gujarat’s digital transformation. He stated that the goal of establishing an AI cluster is to make the latest AI solutions easily accessible to the growing number of financial institutions in GIFT City.
In addition to providing technology solutions, IBM will also develop a digital assistant-based solution to facilitate the onboarding and integration of custom language models for financial institutions. As part of IBM’s commitment to training 30 million people by 2030 and 2 million students in AI by the end of 2026, the company will create an AI curriculum for schools and colleges across Gujarat.
