IBM and Amazon Web Services of Amazon Inc. announced on Monday November 15th that they have signed a contract to work together to help oil and gas companies manage various types of data.
According to Reuters, Amazon worked with Royal Dutch Shell back in 2018, a British-Dutch multinational oil and gas company headquartered in The Hague, The Netherlands, to convert years of oil production into a standard format so that multinational oil companies can increase the efficiency of their overall business operations.
Most of this data was recorded on paper, so a century’s documents are sure to be difficult to manage. For this purpose the International Business Machines Corp. and Amazon Web Services keep the data safe and use technology to make it easily available when needed.
