When I bought my RTX 4070 Ti GPU in 2023, it was pretty much the third-best card I could buy from Nvidia. The one thing I was absolutely fawning over was the possibility of frame generation with the new GPU, which, at the time, was an exclusive feature for RTX 40 series GPUs.

Fast-forward to 2026, and RTX 50 series cards are now a year old, and they support all the way up to 6x Frame Generation — boasting frame rate numbers I couldn’t possibly replicate on my GPU. Then came other features exclusive to the new Blackwell architecture, and it was tough not to be envious of the new cards running Reflex 2, and, of course, DLSS 5.

Over the past month, however, I’ve installed and used each one of these “exclusive” features on my RTX 4070 Ti, and the results have been considerably more interesting than I anticipated. Sure, some work better than others, but the implications are difficult to ignore.
