I love AI. But the more I use it, the more I hate it

Artificial intelligence, like Mondays, is enjoying increasing unpopularity – so much so that it feels unnecessary to write about how much I hate it lately. And yet I use it more and more often.

AI is great for things like quick-and-dirty concept drawings, as a design companion for turning ideas into reality, and for writing work emails that need to balance formality and rigor.

But so is AI really annoying. The way it talks, the way it forgets things, the way it makes things up on the fly and lies boldly and with confidence. It’s not as good or as revolutionary as it claims to be. Not to mention the terrible things some people do with it, or the overall impact it has had on the industries I love and work in.

Yes, the more I use AI, the more I despise it.
