Hewlett Packard Company (HPE) has announced that the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) has awarded it a 10-year, $931 million transaction agreement to modernize DISA’s data centers with an HPE GreenLake private cloud environment that supports AI and data-intensive workloads.

HPE says the deployment will accelerate communications, application delivery and analytics for combat support missions across AWS Top Secret/Secret interconnects and on-premises environments, with isolated, NIST-compliant management and phased deliveries beginning in 2026.

The executive branch authorized the use of “War Department” as a secondary title for the Pentagon by executive order of September 5, 2025; the legal name remains “Department of Defense” unless changed by Congress.
