HPE states that the impact of AI on enterprises is not exaggerated.

At the HPE Discover EMEA event, HPE is focusing on adopting an “AI-native” strategy to remain competitive in the AI market. HPE aims to assist customers in all stages of the AI model lifecycle, leveraging its ownership of Cray to provide necessary supercomputing technology for training large AI models. The company sees AI as the future, delivering it through the Greenlake platform and positioning itself as a key player in the AI landscape.

During the event, CEO Antonio Neri emphasized the potential of AI in enterprises, stating that AI will be the most disruptive technology in our lifetime. Neri highlighted the impact of generative AI models like OpenAI’s ChatGPT, which has accelerated interest in AI technologies.

HPE is collaborating with companies like Taiga Cloud, which utilizes HPE Cray XD nodes with Nvidia H100 GPUs for AI processing. The partnership aims to democratize access to generative AI for startups and smaller businesses by providing the necessary resources for training models.

In addition to partnerships with companies like Taiga Cloud, HPE acknowledges the importance of its relationship with Nvidia in delivering AI solutions. Nvidia’s Vice President, Manuvir Das, discussed the value of pre-trained AI models for enterprise users, emphasizing the potential for businesses to leverage existing models for their specific requirements.

While HPE faces competition from rivals like Dell, who also utilize Nvidia GPUs for AI solutions, the company believes that AI inference is a critical aspect of the AI model lifecycle. Neri highlighted the significance of AI inference in deploying models and making real-time decisions.

Despite recent declines in revenue from its Computer business, HPE remains optimistic about the potential for AI inference to drive growth. Matt Harris, HPE’s managing director for the UK, Ireland, Middle East, and Africa, is confident in AI’s transformative impact on business operations.

As the industry embraces the promise of AI, HPE is positioning itself as a key player in delivering AI solutions to enterprises. The company’s focus on AI-native strategies, partnerships with industry leaders, and belief in the transformative power of AI underscore its commitment to staying relevant and competitive in the evolving AI landscape.
