Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) and Nvidia have teamed up to introduce a new alliance focused on AI products for data centers and the cloud. This collaboration, known as Nvidia AI Computing by HPE, includes HPE Private Cloud AI, which was unveiled by CEO Antonio Neri during HPE Discover. This new product aims to provide enterprises with a turnkey private cloud for AI, enabling them to focus on developing new AI applications to enhance productivity and generate revenue.
The HPE Private Cloud AI is built on the Nvidia AI Enterprise software platform, which simplifies the development and deployment of AI applications within the enterprise. It includes Nvidia NIM for optimized AI model inference, as well as HPE AI Essentials software for database and AI tools management. The hardware infrastructure stack consists of HPE ProLiant servers with support for Nvidia GPUs, Ethernet connections, and storage networks.
According to HPE CTO Fidelma Russo, the goal of this partnership is to accelerate the adoption of Generative AI by offering a seamless and user-friendly experience. The product is designed to increase the efficiency of data engineers, data scientists, and IT operations teams by up to 90%. The partnership with OpsRamp, acquired by HPE GreenLake, also plays a significant role in providing observability for the AI compute stack within HPE Private Cloud AI.
This announcement follows HPE’s previous GreenLake for LLM launch, but with a broader customer base. HPE Private Cloud AI is expected to be generally available in the next one or two quarters, targeting enterprise customers looking to adopt AI workloads at scale without breaking their IT budgets. Additionally, HPE has introduced new servers with AI-focused support from Nvidia, such as the ProLiant DL384 Gen12 and ProLiant DL380a Gen12, aimed at customers using LLM and seeking to expand their AI projects.
In the future, HPE plans to introduce support for new Nvidia architectures and storage certification programs, with all products set to be available in the fall, except for the HPE Cray XD670 Server with Nvidia H200 NVL, which will be released in the summer. This strategic partnership between HPE and Nvidia signifies a significant step towards the advancement of AI technologies in data centers and the cloud.
