HPE Introduces HPE Aruba Networking Enterprise Private 5G with Athonet Acquisition Integration

Hewlett Packard Company (HPE) has launched HPE Aruba Networking Enterprise Private 5G to assist customers in deploying and managing private 5G networks more efficiently. This solution aims to provide reliable wireless coverage in large campus and industrial settings while also unlocking new potentials for private companies. The integration of this technology follows HPE’s acquisition of Athonet in 2023.

With this expansion of their edge-to-cloud portfolio, HPE Aruba Networking now offers private Wi-Fi and 5G solutions for industries like manufacturing, healthcare, public venues, and education. This helps in overcoming connectivity challenges across large and remote sites. HPE Aruba Networking Enterprise Private 5G works alongside Wi-Fi connectivity to enhance AI data capture and delivery capabilities, creating AI data lakes and enabling inference solutions.

The offering also allows communication service providers (CSPs) to swiftly deploy private 5G networks for their clients. This integrated solution complements existing Wi-Fi-based services, aiding telecom customers in tapping into the growing private cellular market and generating additional revenue from enterprise customers.

The features of HPE Aruba Networking Enterprise Private 5G include an end-to-end solution encompassing a 4G/5G core, HPE ProLiant Gen11 servers, SIM/eSIM cards, 4G/5G small cells, and a control panel. The new HPE 4G/5G small cell radios provide indoor and outdoor coverage, eliminating the need for a separate management tool. Cloud-native management and automation simplify subscriber and deployment management, central monitoring, and radio monitoring.

This solution also allows for the creation of AI data lakes and inference solutions. It supports interoperability with shared spectrum for private companies, such as the Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) spectrum in the US and globally beginning in 2025. Setting up is made easy with a pre-integrated solution that can deploy a private 4G/5G enterprise network in under 30 minutes with zero-touch configuration and provisioning wizards.
