Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) made its strategic priorities clear and named cloud specialist and former VMware manager Fidelma Russo as its next CTO.
Antonio Neri, President and CEO of HPE, said in a statement that Russo’s “deep expertise in cloud services, software and infrastructure” makes them “an excellent place to innovate” as the company works to become a cloud services company to transform.
The news follows Neri’s announcement in August that Kumar Sreekanti, CTO of HPE, “has decided to retire just two years after joining HPE in 2019 through the acquisition of BlueData and 15 months after being named CTO walk”. At the time, Neri said Sreekanti would continue in his duties as CTO until HPE names a replacement.
Sreekanti took over from Mark Potter, who was appointed CTO in 2017 and announced his resignation in May 2020. Potter himself was hired after CTO Martin Fink left in late 2016. This makes Russo the company’s fourth CTO …
