Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has introduced HPE GreenLake Block Storage for AWS, allowing HPE partners to manage block storage seamlessly across on-premises GreenLake and AWS public cloud environments. This new release of GreenLake for block storage aims to surpass competitors and position HPE as a leader in hybrid cloud AI-based storage. Sanjay Jagad, VP of cloud data infrastructure product management at HPE, highlighted the industry-first scalable disaggregated block storage offered as software-defined storage with AWS Support.
The update includes support for NVMe capacity scaling to 5.6 petabytes, up from 2.8 petabytes. HPE GreenLake for Block Storage now offers AI Ops-based capabilities with Infosight AI Ops cross-stack analytics for measuring performance and cost of storage in hybrid environments. HPE is making significant investments in training, sales, and go-to-market strategies to drive hybrid cloud sales growth through partners.
The new version of GreenLake for Block Storage also features AI operations management capabilities with a hybrid and federated AI engine, as well as Infosight AI Ops cross-stack analytics to aid in storage performance and cost measurement in hybrid environments. HPE’s AI operations leverage a global telemetry data fabric to provide insights across hybrid storage infrastructure.
The introduction of HPE GreenLake for Block Storage for AWS sets HPE apart in the industry as the only software-defined disaggregated block storage in the hyperscale public cloud environment. This offering allows customers to optimize cloud spending, balance on-premise and cloud resources, and centrally manage their storage through the GreenLake cloud platform with unified AI Ops capabilities.
In the future, HPE plans to extend support for Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud to establish itself as a true hybrid cloud platform. Partners are encouraged to leverage hyperscale public cloud providers and assist customers in transitioning to a true hybrid cloud environment to maximize investments. The Timeless Program within HPE GreenLake for Block Storage ensures customers can upgrade to next-generation storage controllers without costly upgrades, fostering future-proof investments.
