HPE GreenLake Introduces Several New Storage Features

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has introduced new features to its HPE GreenLake Flagship Platform, including block storage for AWS and private cloud offerings. The updates announced at HPE Discover 2023 focused on computing, with the new offering related to block storage.

HPE GreenLake Storage for AWS aims to simplify workload and data management in the cloud using software-defined storage. It provides a seamless storage management experience across all hybrid cloud environments, offering high levels of resilience and a faster return on investment. Additionally, a new version of HPE GreenLake for block storage now supports scalable NVMe up to 5.6PB on the Alletra hardware, which is specialized block storage devices available through GreenLake.

Furthermore, HPE GreenLake for Block Storage includes an AI element with support for HPE Infosight AIOps, enhancing performance, resource utilization, and availability. The company has also added support for Alletra MP and SimpliVity Gen 11 to HPE GreenLake for Private Cloud Business Edition, as announced at Discover 2023.

These updates align with HPE’s overall strategy, emphasizing HPE GreenLake as a leading product and experience. CEO Antonio Neri has previously stated that GreenLake is the future of HPE, highlighting the company’s focus on the service. AI is also a key component of HPE’s business strategy, with a strong emphasis on established technologies rather than cutting-edge developments like Generative AI.

The announcement of these updates sets the stage for potential larger announcements at the upcoming HPE Discover 2024 event. Overall, these enhancements reflect HPE’s commitment to evolving its product offerings and enhancing customer experiences in the hybrid cloud space.
