HPE has announced a new program for GreenLake customers using the HPE Alletra MP block storage service. Customers who participate in this program will receive an upgrade to a next-generation controller when they renew their subscription, eliminating the need for hardware and software upgrades on the customer’s end. HPE claims that by avoiding significant hardware upgrades, customers can save up to 30% in total cost of ownership (TCO) for storage.
The program also includes two guarantees: the HPE Data Availability Guarantee and HPE StoreMore Data Efficiency Guarantees. Additionally, HPE’s Timeless program is set to be available in the third quarter of 2024.
With the introduction of Timeless, HPE now offers customers the ability to manage block storage in hybrid cloud environments, allowing for seamless integration between on-premises GreenLake Alletra and AWS. The GreenLake Block Storage service on the Alletra MP platform is now capable of scaling its NVMe SSD capacity up to 5.6PB, double the previous capacity, with the option to add up to 16 JBOF shelves.
This new program from HPE aims to provide GreenLake customers with a more cost-effective and efficient way to manage their block storage needs, while also offering the flexibility to scale and integrate with cloud environments. By taking care of hardware and software upgrades, HPE is simplifying the storage management process for customers and enabling them to focus on their core business operations.
