HPE and Nvidia join forces to enhance AI capabilities for Industry 4.0 through integrated compute and cloud solutions

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) and Nvidia have collaborated to introduce a range of joint AI solutions and integrations aimed at facilitating the adoption of generative AI in Industry 4.0. These solutions, known collectively as Nvidia AI Computing by HPE, focus on combining Nvidia’s computing stack with HPE’s private cloud technology to create the HPE Private Cloud AI, set for release in Q3 2024.

The HPE Private Cloud AI aims to support a variety of AI workloads using proprietary data, while also ensuring data privacy, security, and governance. Through a joint go-to-market strategy, both companies will offer different portfolio offerings and services, with the involvement of system integrators such as Deloitte, HCLTech, Infosys, TCS, and Wipro. This collaboration aims to simplify the fragmented AI technology landscape and facilitate enterprise adoption of generative AI.

Antonio Neri, president and CEO of HPE, highlighted the potential of generative AI in transforming businesses but also emphasized the challenges and risks associated with fragmented AI technologies that hinder large-scale adoption. By developing the HPE Private Cloud AI, HPE and Nvidia aim to provide businesses with a turnkey solution that allows them to focus on developing new AI use cases and unlocking new revenue streams.

Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of Nvidia, emphasized the transformative power of generative AI and accelerated computing in driving industrial revolution across various industries. The collaboration between Nvidia and HPE aims to combine their technologies to provide enterprise and AI professional customers with advanced computing infrastructure and services.

The joint proposal leverages the Nvidia AI Enterprise software platform, focusing on simplifying the development and deployment of generative AI applications. It includes the new inference microservices (NIM) product from Nvidia and AI Essentials software from HPE. The AI Private Cloud product integrates various technologies, such as Nvidia’s Spectrum-X Ethernet networking platform, HPE’s GreenLake cloud, and file storage, and ProLiant servers supporting Nvidia’s GPUs.

HPE’s inclusion of observability through OpsRamp provides insights into Nvidia’s compute stack and AI infrastructure, allowing IT administrators to monitor AI workloads in hybrid and multi-cloud environments effectively. Additionally, HPE has extended support for the latest Nvidia GPUs and CPUs across its server portfolio.

In conclusion, the collaboration between HPE and Nvidia aims to provide a comprehensive solution for enterprises looking to adopt generative AI. The HPE Private Cloud AI combines cutting-edge technologies from both companies to create a turnkey private cloud solution that addresses the complexities and challenges of implementing AI at scale.
