HPE and 2 Degrees have agreed to a strategic collaboration to develop a private AI platform for the New Zealand telecoms operator, using HPE Private Cloud AI and keeping customer and operational data on the ground.
The companies said the platform is part of 2grados’ work to modernize and simplify their technological environment. They said it would operate as a sovereign AI platform under New Zealand jurisdiction and governance controls.
HPE said the platform uses HPE Private Cloud AI, which it co-developed with Nvidia as part of HPE’s Nvidia AI Computing. The companies said the approach would provide an on-premises environment that combines data management and AI analytics.
Terrestrial data
The collaboration places data sovereignty at the center of the project. The companies said the system would keep critical data stored in New Zealand rather than in marine environments.
