Hewlett Packard Company and NVIDIA have announced a joint program called “Nvidia AI Computing by HPE” at the HP Discover trade show in Las Vegas. This collaboration focuses on providing integrated AI hardware and software tools for enterprise customers, emphasizing AI server installations. HP Enterprise CEO Antonio Neri highlighted the complexity involved in setting up AI infrastructure and the importance of the partnership in streamlining the process for businesses.

The goal of this initiative is to accelerate the Gen AI industrial revolution by offering comprehensive solutions that go beyond just selling servers powered by Nvidia chips. Neri emphasized the need for software, storage, and networking components to create a complete AI infrastructure. By simplifying the setup process, the companies aim to enable businesses to establish their own AI systems without relying on cloud providers.

Neri noted that more than half of HPE’s AI server orders come from enterprise customers, indicating a strong demand for AI solutions in the market. The announcement highlighted the challenges faced by businesses in adopting AI technology due to its fragmented nature, as well as the risks associated with data security and compliance. The shift towards running workloads on corporate data centers or private clouds reflects concerns about safeguarding proprietary data, particularly in highly regulated industries.

While HP Enterprise has a history of collaboration with rival Nvidia, particularly in the development of supercomputers, its AI server business is primarily driven by Nvidia rather than Advanced Micro Devices (AMD). Neri cited the simplicity of Nvidia’s full stack and software as a key factor in this preference. The partnership aims to address the complexities and barriers hindering enterprise adoption of AI technology, thereby driving business transformation through AI-driven insights and innovation.

Overall, the collaboration between Hewlett Packard Company and NVIDIA signals a strategic move towards enabling enterprise customers to harness the power of AI for driving growth and innovation in today’s data-driven economy. By offering integrated AI solutions, the companies aim to empower businesses to leverage AI technology effectively and securely, without compromising on data privacy or regulatory compliance.
