(NEXSTAR) – Google last week warned billions of users that the security of its Internet browser, Chrome, could be compromised.
As a result, Google said it would release a new version of Chrome with 29 security fixes. The new version will roll out automatically “in the coming days/weeks,” according to the company, but you have the option to update your browser right away.
To update Chrome to the latest version “Chrome 101.0.4951.41” in your computer’s browser:
- Click on the three dots in the top right corner of your window.
- Click on “Settings” which will open a new tab.
- From the options on the left rail, click About Chrome.
- Chrome will start identifying the latest version and install it. When it’s done, you need to complete the update by clicking “Restart”. (See photo at right.)
- Chrome will shut down for a few brief seconds and then reopen…
