Telegram is a popular messaging app that has been gaining traction recently due to the controversy over WhatsApp’s new privacy policy. The app passed the five million mark earlier this month and added 25 million new users in the past few days.

If you’re new to Telegram and want to customize the chats to your liking, here is a step-by-step guide for you:

Step 1: Open the Telegram app.

Step 2: Tap the gear icon in the lower right corner of the app (on iOS) to access Settings.

Step 3: Tap the Appearance option.

Step 4: Choose the Night or Tinted Night option depending on what you want the dark mode to look like.

Step 4: In the section below, select the color of the chat bubbles.

Step 5: Tap the Chat Background option.

Step 6: Tap on the “Set color” option to select a solid color as the telegram background.

Step 7: Tap the Pattern option to select background graphics. Next, set the pattern intensity.

Step 8: Tap the Set button.

Alternatively, you can use one of the images available in the app as a chat background.

Step 9: After tapping the Chat Background option, tap the picture you want to use.

Step 10: Tap on the Blurry and Motion options, whichever you like.
