One of the many pesky barriers for people freely exploring and inhabiting Mars is the lack of oxygen on the planet. Fortunately, the Perseverance rover can help NASA.

Use a synchronized instrument MOXIE (short for Mars Oxygen In-Situ Resource Utilization Experiment), the rover successfully took carbon dioxide from the Martian atmosphere and converted it to oxygen. NASA announced on Tuesday. NASA is planning more MOXIE tests but did not say when.
