A fundamental “perception gap” has emerged in the Australian workforce, according to a report from the UTS Human Technology Institute (HTI). The vast majority of employees are unaware that they are being monitored by increasingly invasive artificial intelligence tools.
The Surveillance creep The report, released on Monday, shows that while 91 per cent of Australian employers surveyed say they use software to monitor the location of remote workers, only 9 per cent of workers believe this technology is being used in their own roles.
