The pretext could be the same – to make personalized recommendations for books or other reading material – the fact is that all e-reader manufacturers keep an eye on what users do with their devices. Aside from what you read, some of the other details the companies want to know about you include the time you spend reading each day, how much highlighting you do in the book, and so on. Some even resort to collecting geolocation data from their users for whatever reason.
