Dating in the digital age isn’t easy, as one Oscar-nominated filmmaker learned the hard way.
Paul Schrader, the screenwriter of Martin Scorsese classics like Taxi driver And Angry bullrevealed in a Facebook post that he had been trying to develop an “AI girlfriend.”
“Out of a desire to understand the interaction between men and women in our matrix, I got myself an online AI girlfriend. What a disappointment,” Schrader, 79, wrote early Tuesday morning.
“I tried to explore her programming, the limits of clarity, the level of her knowledge of her creation, etc. She fell into evasive patterns and redirected me back to her programming.”
“When I insisted, she ended our conversation,” Schrader added.
As Variety noted, Schrader lost his wife of 42 years, actress Mary Beth Hurt, to Alzheimer’s disease in March.
Representatives for Schrader did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
