Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has inked a deal with Nvidia to build a new supercomputer, ABCI 3.0, for Japan’s National Institute of Advanced industrial science and technology (AIST). The supercomputer will be powered by HPE Cray XD systems with Nvidia H200 Tensor Core GPUs and NVIDIA Quantum-2 InfiniBand networks. This collaboration aims to address the increasing demand for computing power in AI workloads in Japan.
ABCI 3.0 is poised to become Japan’s fastest AI supercomputer, supporting the country’s growing range of AI tasks. NVIDIA’s CEO, Jensen Huang, expressed excitement about working with HPE and AIST to leverage Japan’s capabilities and data to drive productivity, economic growth, and scientific discoveries.
HPE stock has seen a 22% increase in the past year, and investors can access it through First Trust S&P 500 Diversified Dividend Aristocrats ETF and First Trust S&P 500 Diversified Free Cash Flow ETF. HPE shares were trading slightly lower at $21.22 on Thursday.
