YouTube’s ‘Beyond Dreams’ has shared a video, showcasing a modded version of Death Stranding 2 on an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 at 8K. The biggest feature in this video is the latest version is the ReSTIR GI, which can be used with Complete RT. So, let’s take a look at it.
Thanks to the Complete RT Reshade, Beyond Dreams was able to improve the game’s global illumination, AO, and Sky Lighting. Moreover, he was able to improve the quality of tessellation and the LOD distance. On top of that, he added Color Grading, Depth of Field, and an Immersive Camera shake mod.
In the video, Beyond Dreams provided some before/after comparison shots. As you will see, one of the biggest improvements is with the grass. By default, the grass in Death Stranding 2 looks weird and flat. But with this mod, we get better shadowing. We can also see better GI in some other comparisons.
In my opinion, Death Stranding 2 looks and runs great. Right now, it has great optimization on PC. But with this mod, the game can look even better. Sadly, though, that comes with a cost. Complete RT will greatly increase the GPU requirements. Even though this is screen-space Ray Tracing, it’s still a form of Ray Tracing. So, this is only for those who own a high-end GPU. At least in my opinion.
Also note that in order to achieve somewhat playable framerates at 8K, Beyond Dreams has used NVIDIA’s DLSS. This isn’t at native resolution. Still, as I have showcased, gaming at 8K with DLSS can…
