Click, click, click.

NASA on Wednesday released the first recording ever of a laser on Mars. The recently landed Mars Perserance rover zapped a rock from 10 feet away. In the following recording, you’ll hear 30 zaps that sound like clicks when the laser hits the rock.

“These sounds are exactly as you would hear them with your own ears if you were standing on the surface of Mars,” said Naomi Murdoch, rover engineer and researcher at ISAE-SUPAERO (France’s Higher Institute of Aeronautics …).
