MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – During the tragic filming of the Allina Health Clinic in Buffalo, some Minnesota health workers fear the same thing could happen where they work.
Leif and Margaret Thorsgaard learned of last week’s tragedy while on duty in their emergency room at United Hospital in St. Paul, also in Allina.
“It’s just a heartbreaking feeling,” said Margaret.

Margaret works as a technician. Leif is a nurse. The couple say they felt vulnerable every day in the emergency room even before the shooting.
“My first thought when I saw this [in Buffalo] was ‘I’m surprised it didn’t happen here,’ ”Leif said.
They want more protection against worst-case scenarios like the one in Buffalo and the more frequent abuses they are exposed to.
