HCLTech and IBM have announced a collaboration to establish a Generative AI Center of Excellence (GenAI CoE) based on IBM’s Watsonx™ data and artificial intelligence platform. The goal of this partnership is to train 10,000 engineers and architects at HCLTech on IBM’s AI technologies, specifically Watsonx. This initiative will help companies innovate through advanced technologies with the CloudSMART for IBM portfolio, leveraging the latest business and technological knowledge.
The CoE will be available at HCLTech’s cloud native and AI labs in Noida, London, New Jersey, and Santa Clara in the US. It will focus on modernizing legacy applications, developing IT service management (ITSM) use cases, reducing coding complexity, enhancing skills development on the IBM Watsonx™ platform, and enabling continuous innovation.
Alan Flower, Executive Vice President and Global Head of AI & Cloud Native Labs at HCLTech, stated that the collaboration with IBM will allow for rapid exploration of AI’s potential in building differentiated offerings using the latest IBM technology. They plan to integrate Watsonx into HCLTech’s AI Force with GenAI-powered solutions to support code modernization. Additionally, they aim to accelerate GenAI adoption for customers through Watsonx-enabled AI and enhance digital skills for business productivity with Watsonx Orchestrate.
Stephen Smith, general manager of ecosystem services partners at IBM, emphasized the importance of driving the adoption of responsible generative AI solutions through partnerships like the one with HCLTech. The CoE will empower joint customers to explore and design generative AI solutions with Watsonx customized to address their current business challenges.
The Center of Excellence will provide customers with education and training resources on various AI technologies, including watsonx.ai, watsonx.data, watsonx.governance, watsonx Code Assistants, watsonx Orchestrate, and watsonx Assistant. These resources will help train employees and build use cases tailored to meet the needs of the business.
