HCL Technology and IBM have partnered to establish a Generative AI Center of Excellence (GenAI CoE) based on the IBM Watsonx platform. The CoE will be located in HCLTech’s AI and Cloud Native labs in Noida, London, New Jersey, and Santa Clara, aiming to help businesses modernize legacy applications, develop IT service management use cases, reduce coding complexity, and improve skills development on the Watsonx platform. HCLTech’s Executive Vice President, Alan Flower, expressed excitement about integrating Watsonx into their AI Force with GenAI-powered solutions for code modernization.

One of the main goals of the collaboration is to train 10,000 engineers and architects on IBM’s AI technologies, specifically Watsonx. The CloudSMART for IBM portfolio will assist businesses in innovating continuously with the latest business and technology insights. IBM’s general manager, Stephen Smith, highlighted the importance of implementing responsible GenAI solutions through partnerships like the one with HCLTech. The CoE will provide customers with education and training resources covering various AI technologies such as watsonx.ai, watsonx.data, watsonx.governance, watsonx Code Assistants, watsonx Orchestrate, and watsonx Assistant to help build use cases and train resources.

Additionally, HCLTech and IBM aim to enhance digital skills for business productivity by deploying Watsonx Orchestrate and accelerating GenAI adoption. By empowering joint customers to explore and design generative AI solutions tailored to their business challenges, the collaboration seeks to drive innovation in the AI space. The CoE will facilitate the rapid exploration, experimentation, and design of Watsonx-powered solutions for customers through education and training resources.
