HCLTech and IBM are collaborating to establish a Generative AI Center of Excellence (Gen AI CoE) that will be based on IBM’s Watsonx data and AI platform. This facility aims to help enterprises modernize legacy applications, develop IT service management (ITSM) use cases, reduce coding complexity, and enhance skill development on the IBM platform. The CoE will be accessible through HCLTech’s AI and Cloud Native Labs in Noida, London, New Jersey, and Santa Clara, offering training and capacity building resources across various AI technologies. The partnership also plans to train 10,000 engineers and architects on IBM’s innovative AI technologies, specifically watsonx.
Alan Flower, Executive Vice President and Global Head of AI & Cloud Native Labs at HCLTech, expressed excitement about leveraging watsonx in their AI Force to support code modernization. HCLTech AI Force comprises Gen AI-powered solutions tailored for software and engineering workflows. Additionally, IBM signed a memorandum of understanding with the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Gujarat to establish an AI cluster using IBM Watsonx at Gujarat International Finance Tec (GIFT) City. This cluster will promote innovation and collaboration among financial institutions, offering access to AI Sandbox, proof of concepts, AI literacy programs, and digital assistant solutions.
