HCLTech and IBM have joined forces to establish the Generative AI Center of Excellence (GenAI CoE) in order to assist enterprises in modernizing legacy applications and promoting continuous innovation. The partnership will be based at various locations in the US, UK, and India, utilizing IBM’s WatsonX data and AI platform alongside HCLTech’s cloud-native and AI labs in Noida, London, New Jersey, and Santa Clara. The goal is to enhance IT service management, reduce coding complexity, and foster skills development on the IBM Watson platform.

Alan Flower, Executive Vice President and Global Head of AI and Cloud Native Labs at HCLTech, expressed excitement about the collaboration, highlighting the incorporation of WatsonX into HCLTech’s AI Force with GenAI-powered solutions to facilitate code modernization. Additionally, the companies plan to train 10,000 engineers and architects on IBM’s AI technologies, with a focus on WatsonX.

The joint effort aims to drive the adoption of responsible generative AI solutions, empowering customers to explore and design tailored AI solutions to address their business challenges. The CoE will provide access to education and training resources covering various AI technologies to help customers build use cases and enhance their digital skills for improved business productivity.

In a related development, Salesforce recently opened an artificial intelligence center in London to support innovation and skill development for customers and partners. The move reflects a broader trend in the industry towards leveraging AI technologies to drive business efficiency and continuous improvement.
