HCLTech and IBM team up to establish Generative AI center – InfotechLead

HCLTech and IBM recently announced a new collaboration to establish a Generative AI Center of Excellence (CoE) utilizing IBM’s Watsonx data and AI platform. The center will be located in HCLTech’s cloud-native and AI labs in London and Austin, Texas, and aims to help global enterprises develop custom AI applications, enhance data capabilities, and accelerate responsible AI workflows.

By leveraging HCLTech’s expertise in cloud-native solutions and IBM’s Watsonx AI platform, the CoE will assist businesses in modernizing legacy applications, developing IT Service Management (ITSM) use cases, reducing coding complexity, improving skills development on the Watsonx platform, and enabling continuous innovation.

The main features and benefits of this collaboration include code modernization through the integration of Watsonx into HCLTech’s AI Force, facilitating the adoption of generative AI to improve digital skills for business productivity, and training 10,000 HCLTech engineers and architects on IBM’s Watsonx AI technologies.

Vijay Guntur, CTO and Head of Ecosystems at HCLTech, expressed excitement about the expansion of their work with IBM, highlighting the potential for highly differentiated offerings using the latest IBM technology. The integration of Watsonx into HCLTech’s AI Force will support code modernization and accelerate generative AI adoption while enhancing digital skills for business productivity.

The CoE will provide customers with access to educational and training resources on various AI technologies offered by Watsonx, including watsonx.ai, watsonx data, watsonx governance, Watsonx Code Assistants, watsonx orchestra, and Assistant Watsonx. The goal is to empower joint customers to explore, experiment, and design generative AI solutions tailored to address their current business challenges.

Stephen Smith, general manager of services partners at IBM Ecosystem, emphasized the importance of driving the adoption of responsible generative AI solutions through collaboration with partners like HCLTech. The CoE aims to help customers rapidly explore and design generative AI solutions with Watsonx to overcome their business challenges.

In conclusion, the Generative AI Center of Excellence marks a significant milestone in the ongoing partnership between HCLTech and IBM, providing enterprises with a platform to innovate and transform their operations using advanced AI technologies. Both companies remain committed to driving responsible AI adoption and technological advancement through this initiative.
