HCLTech and IBM introduce the GenAI Center of Excellence to provide bespoke AI solutions for clients

HCLTech and IBM have joined forces to establish a Generative AI Center of Excellence (GenAI CoE) utilizing IBM’s Watsonx™ AI and data platform. This collaboration aims to assist enterprises in modernizing legacy applications, developing IT service management (ITSM) use cases, simplifying coding complexity, enhancing skills on the IBM Watsonx™ platform, and promoting continuous innovation.

The GenAI CoE will be accessible through HCLTech’s AI and Cloud Native labs located in Noida, London, New Jersey, and Santa Clara in the US. Through this partnership, HCLTech plans to integrate Watsonx into their AI Force with GenAI-powered solutions to support code modernization. They also aim to help clients accelerate GenAI adoption through Watsonx-enabled AI while improving digital skills for enhanced business productivity using Watsonx Orchestrate.

Alan Flower, EVP and Global Head of AI & Cloud Native Labs at HCLTech, expressed excitement about the collaboration, emphasizing the potential for highly differentiated offerings using IBM technology. HCLTech plans to train 10,000 engineers and architects on IBM’s AI technologies, with a focus on Watsonx, through their CloudSMART for IBM portfolio. This training will enable businesses to drive continuous innovation leveraging advanced technologies and insights.

Stephen Smith, GM of ecosystem services partners at IBM, highlighted the importance of promoting responsible generative AI solutions through partnerships like the one with HCLTech. The CoE will empower customers to explore, experiment, and design AI solutions tailored to address their specific business challenges using Watsonx.

Through the CoE, customers will gain access to education and training resources covering various AI technologies such as Watsonx.ai, Watsonx.data, Watsonx.governance, Watsonx Code Assistants, Watsonx Orchestrate, and Watsonx Assistant. These resources will help train their workforce and facilitate the development of use cases tailored to their needs.

Overall, the collaboration between HCLTech and IBM marks a significant step towards leveraging AI technologies to drive innovation, enhance skills development, and address the evolving needs of enterprises in today’s digital landscape. The GenAI CoE will serve as a hub for exploring the full potential of generative AI solutions and supporting businesses in their digital transformation journeys.
