Texans who purchased and used an Android device, including Samsung Galaxy devices, could be eligible for some settlement cash soon. The settlement comes after a class-action lawsuit was filed against Google, alleging that it collects users’ information and uses their cellular data without their knowledge.
Individuals who were impacted may get a share of the $135 million payout. Before that happens, there are several important deadlines Texans should note.
The deadline to write an objection to the court regarding the terms and planned awards of the settlement is Friday, May 29. This is also your last chance to exclude yourself from being involved, which means you won’t receive any funds or benefits that may be owed to you.
The settlement is the result of a class action lawsuit filed by a group of plaintiffs in 2022, according to court records. Filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, they claim Google’s operating system leads Android mobile devices…
