Gujarat government partners with IBM and Microsoft to enhance AI technology in the State

The Government of Gujarat signed MoUs with IBM, Microsoft, and NASSCOM to promote Artificial Intelligence in the state. The agreements aim to establish an AI Cluster and Centre of Excellence at GIFT City, focusing on technologies like machine learning and cognitive services. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel highlighted the importance of AI in propelling Gujarat as a top industrial state and emphasized the need for skilled manpower through training programs. IBM India-South Asia’s general manager, Sandeep Patel, stated that AI is crucial for India’s development and financial companies in GIFT City will benefit from IBM’s AI platform. The program also includes collaboration with universities to train students in deep tech courses, with the goal of training 25,000 students over three years. Overall, the initiatives aim to position Gujarat as a global gateway to the future by leveraging advanced technologies like AI.
