Vulnerabilities Exposed in Physical Teleports
In the opening phases of Operation Epic Fury, targeted strikes struck satcom terminals and ground infrastructure across U.S. military installations in Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. Subsequent precision missile attacks targeted commercial teleport facilities, including the SES Ha’Ela teleport in Israel, while sustained jamming disrupted regional uplink and downlink channels.
The physical targeting of gateways underscores the operational limitations of static ground equipment in modern high-intensity conflicts. To maintain continuous operational links when primary teleports are degraded or destroyed, defense organizations are transitioning toward software-defined ground architectures that route waveforms dynamically across multiple orbits, bands, and ground nodes.
