TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) – Governor DeSantis, House Speaker Chris Sprowls, and Representative Fiona McFarland held a press conference Monday to introduce legislative proposals that would improve privacy, security, and protect the rights of Floridians vis-à-vis large tech companies.

Monday’s announcement, another major step in protecting the Floridians from the often untested power of big tech, follows the governor and lawmakers’ proposal earlier this month to increase technology transparency in Florida.

“Big tech companies have given up responsibility for protecting and securing American and Florida data for far too long.
