The Ministry of ICT, Innovation and Youth Affairs, in cooperation with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and getINNOtized, has committed to training 100 young people in cloud computing by the end of the year and linking them to employment opportunities.
50 learners have already signed up for the Under AWS Re / Start program through government-sponsored Ajira Digital, which will equip them with new cloud computing skills, career and résumé coaching, and interview opportunities with local employers.
According to Robin Njiru, AWS Kenya Business Lead for East Africa, as part of the 12-week program, learners will receive support from professional mentors and accredited instructors to build a variety of technological skills such as programming, networking, security and relational databases using real-world databases.
