Google is getting back into the smart glasses race – this time with a little help from eyewear brand Warby Parker. Together, they plan to launch lightweight glasses powered by Gemini, Google’s multimodal AI, potentially changing the way we use wearable technology every day.

Already in June, Future posed a fascinating question: Would 2025 finally mark the true beginning of the era of smart glasses? So far, most tech companies have tested the waters, some more successfully than others. Meta still dominates the market Ray Ban line, alongside fashion and sports-focused models developed with Oakley.

However, we may have to wait until 2026 for the real competition to begin.
