Google used this week’s CES event visibility to announce new AI-powered Gemini for Google TV capabilities that aim to bring its TV platform into the center of how people watch, search and even fix what’s on screen. This week, the company previewed Gemini features for Google TV that can answer spoken questions with pictures, short clips, and topic explainers, allow you to search and view Google Photos on the big screen, and adjust TV picture or audio settings when viewers say the image looks dim or dialogue sounds muddy.
The first launch is available on select TCL sets, with broader support following over the next few months. Requirements include Android TV OS 14, a Google account, and an internet connection. Availability varies by language and country.
