Google will invest more than $1 billion over two years to grow existing data center infrastructure in Lenoir, the company announced March 13.
Opened in 2007, Google’s data center in Lenoir supports services such as Google Maps, YouTube, search services and more, according to a March 13 news release announcing the investment. Google generated $13.1 billion in economic activity in North Carolina in 2024, according to its 2024 annual impact report. It has invested $1.2 billion in the state since the company built the data center.
