Google recently introduced the Gemini AI feature for Gmail during the I/O 2024 event, and now they have rolled out the Generative Artificial Intelligence (gen AI) feature for users. This new feature will be easily accessible in the side panel of Gmail for Android, iOS, and web users. Powered by the Gemini 1.5 Pro Large Language Model (LLM), gen AI will help users distill long email threads, offer grammar corrections, and prompt users with intelligent responses.
Gemini is now available in Gmail, allowing users to search for information using minimal keywords and compose emails with professional grammar and structure. Users can ask Gemini to search old emails for specific information about Gmail and Google Drive specifications, as well as freely ask questions to extract important details. For example, users can inquire about upcoming town meetings and receive accurate information from recent emails.
On computers, users can access Gemini through the “Ask Gemini” (star button) feature in the top right corner of Gmail, while mobile users can tap the “summarize this email” chip in an email thread. It is important to note that Gemini for Gmail will be exclusively available to premium subscribers, including Google Workspace customers with subscription plans like Gemini Business or Enterprise, as well as teachers with the Gemini Education or Education Premium plan.
Users with a Google One AI Premium subscription can access Gemini in Gmail, Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drive. The subscription also includes 2TB of cloud storage, a 10 percent discount on products from the Google Play Store, and access to additional features in Google Meet and Google Photos. While Google is currently offering a free two-month trial, the subscription will later cost Rs 1,950 per month in India.
In addition to Gmail, Google recently launched the Gemini app for Android in India, providing users with access to the latest news on new releases, device reviews, apps, cybersecurity, and more related to personal technology. Stay updated with DH technology for the latest information on these technological advancements.
