Google Search tests basic ‘Color your Search’ theming

Google is testing very basic theming and customization for the Search results page with a “Color your Search” feature.

Those who have this feature today will see a paint palette icon in the top-left corner of the Search results page. Tapping brings up a “Color your Search” sheet where white/black is joined by nine pastel options.

This “accent color” just applies to the “top of Search.” There are no changes to the list of web results. The Google logo switches to a solid-color version as the background changes. Normally, outside of Google Doodles, the only customization here is the light or dark theme. 

We’re only seeing this on large screen devices today, like the Pixel Tablet or Fold. It’s not appearing on mobile or desktop web.
