Shares of Google owner Alphabet rose to a record high on Wednesday after the internet giant launched its new artificial intelligence model Gemini 3, reassuring investors that it can be a leader in the rapidly changing artificial intelligence market.

Google is among a number of competitors in the race to attract users to their AI assistants, including ChatGPT Creator Open AI, Meta AI, Grok, Perplexity and DeepSeek. Investors are unsure whether the company will win the entire market or be more fragmented.

Gemini 3 technology will be integrated into Google’s AI search app, as well as the traditional search engine’s AI Mode and Overview feature – a development that CEO Sundar Pichai boasted would keep the company ahead of the race.
