Google Podcasts shutting down internationally as YouTube introduces ‘Your podcasts’ page

YouTube has recently improved its podcasting experience by introducing a dedicated “Your Podcasts” page outside of its Music app. This new feature can be found in the You tab on both Android and iOS devices, joining other sections such as Your Videos and Your Movies & TV. Only podcasts that have been uploaded to YouTube will be displayed in this section.

The “Your Podcasts” page includes a simple listing of podcasts with a large cover image and a playlist of new episodes. Users will also find a shortcut to “Explore more podcasts” at youtube.com/podcasts. The page can also be accessed through the navigation drawer on youtube.com, where podcasts are displayed in a grid view.

This feature has been gradually rolling out over the past few days and is now expected to be widely available to all users. In addition to this update, Google Podcasts will officially be discontinued for international users on June 23, following the US depreciation in early April. Users are encouraged to migrate their podcasts to YouTube Music or a third-party service before the final closure on July 29.

Despite promising “many more improvements” in April, the YouTube Music team has not delivered any significant updates. For example, users still cannot mark a podcast as played within the app. Overall, these recent changes and updates aim to enhance the podcasting experience for YouTube users and provide a more seamless platform for accessing and listening to podcasts.
