Following the Feature Drop announcement two weeks ago, Google Maps is rolling out Power Saving mode on the Pixel 10 series.

When using driving navigation, tapping the power button will bring you to a simplified, black-and-white layout that includes the map layer.

The system status bar remains available in this view along with the next turn UI at the top, though the Google Assistant/Gemini button has been removed. At the bottom, you just get route information with the left and right buttons disappearing. Google has removed all the FABs (floating action buttons) at the right, with your current speed also unavailable.

Swiping down from the top of the screen will show your full notification shade. Tapping the screen or the power button brings you back to the rich experience. Otherwise, Power Saving mode will automatically turn off upon arriving at your destination.
