Google launches ChromeOS 126 featuring AI-driven digital zoom, seamless setup using an Android phone, and enhanced features

Google has introduced the ChromeOS 126 update with new features for Chromebook users. This update includes AI-based zoom to improve image quality, making images clearer without optical zoom motors. The update also adds a Quick Start feature, allowing users to easily set up Chromebooks using their Android phones by transferring account and Wi-Fi information securely.

For users with visual impairments, ChromeOS 126 includes accessibility features like a “Magnifier after select to speak” function that magnifies spoken text for low vision users. Another important feature is the ability to disable the flashing text cursor, which can be distracting or trigger photosensitive seizures.

In terms of parental controls, the Family Link feature has been updated to give parents more control over their children’s supervised accounts. Now, permissions for apps and extensions are separated, allowing parents to disallow extensions while still allowing certain app installations.

Miscellaneous features in ChromeOS 126 include a setting to control excessive scrolling behavior and multi-calendar support, which allows users to view events from multiple calendars in Google Calendar.

Google will be rolling out the ChromeOS 126 update in phases, so users may need to wait a few days to see the update on their devices. Overall, this update brings useful improvements and features to Chromebook users, making their experience more seamless and accessible.
