The app code suggests that Adaptive Thermal will send notifications when the device reaches temperatures close to 120 degrees Fahrenheit, with warnings of performance limitations and suggestions for cooling methods. The feature will continuously monitor the device’s temperature and escalate to emergency status if it exceeds 126 degrees or higher. If the temperature reaches 131 degrees or higher, the device will warn of an impending shutdown to protect itself. This could potentially be beneficial for users, especially considering past overheating problems with previous Pixel models. While the timeline for rolling out this feature to Pixel devices is uncertain, it could be included in future releases such as the Pixel 9 Series.
